Everybody join hands and repeat after me — God forgives, Reebok don’t.
The company made the decision to cut ties with Rick Ross because he hadn’t shown an “appropriate level of remorse” over his controversial lyrics about drugging and raping a woman on Rocko’s song “U.O.E.N.O. (You Don’t Even Know It).”
A statement from Reebok said, “Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross.”
After the song was pulled from the rotation at radio stations across the country, Monica’s baby daddy subsequently dropped Rozay’s verse from the track, replacing him with Wiz Khalifa for a remix instead. That means you’re never going to hear it outside of Atlanta now. How will you ever deal?
